More Zen_of_Ten: 10 more minutes, each week, talking about the Elephant in the room.
It’s way too easy to take a pass on the hard conversation. Kick that can down the curb, hoping the issue/problem/challenge just goes away.
Here’s what I’ve learned over the years.
It won’t go away. It never does. In fact, it just gets worse, and more intractable, the longer you ignore it.
Aversion only feeds the beast.
Instead, put the cards on the table, every chance you get. Straight talk. honest input, done as humanly as possible.
You can never, ever go wrong by speaking the truth, and speaking it warmly. When you’re kind, and well-intended, honest conversations are the most fruitful of all.
So every week, 10 more minutes acknowledging and addressing the Elephant in the room, every chance I get.
